Installation checklist.

Installation

Before installing your VAPOR-LOGIC

control

system, review this checklist to ensure proper

installation of the product. Failure to follow the

recommendations listed below could result in failure

or damage to the humidifier or microprocessor.

 Read this manual and information before

starting.

 See wiring diagram and information located

inside the control cabinet door. Return all

information to the control cabinet after

installation.

 Position the control cabinet so that it is in sight

of the humidifier tank.

 Position the control cabinet so that the wire

length from the control cabinet to the

humidifier is 50 feet or less.

 Connect an approved electric earth ground to

the earth ground lug in the control cabinet.

 Never route the low voltage field control wires

near the line voltage section of the control

cabinet or in the same conduit as line voltage

wires.

 Never use shielded cable for water level probe

wiring.

 Attach the heater/machine ground lug in the

junction box, on the humidifier, to the subpanel

machine ground lug with the appropriate wire,

sized per equipment grounding section of The

National Electric Code.

 Use 2-wire, 18 gauge shield plenum

nonconduit-rated cable with drain wire for all

humidity and temperature sensor wiring. (Use

Belden Company cable #88760 or equivalent;

see wiring diagram for appropriate connections.)

 Never ground shield at sensor end. A shield

grounding lug is provided on the control cabinet

subpanel to ground the cable shielding.

 Keypad installation precautions:

 Do not locate keypad inside control cabinet.

 Route modular cable within control cabinet

separated from line voltage circuits.

 Verify that VAPOR-LOGIC

program code,

which is detailed on Pages 8 and 9 of this

manual, matches field requirements.

 Follow the recommended control cabinet field

conduit knockout locations shown on the next

page as Figure 12-1.
